  • KEY FEATURES

    Three courses on one CD
Full interactive multimedia training courses covering:
    • An Introduction to Metallurgy: general metallurgical principles such as hardness, strength, the effects of alloying, characteristics of hot and cold working and the effects of heat treatment.
    • Welding Processes: An introduction to the main technologies and consumable currently used in industry. Includes sections on Manual Metal Arc (MMA), Submerged Arc Welding (SAW), Metal Inert/Active Gas (MIG/MAG), electroslag and electrogas welding.
    • Welding of Carbon Manganese Steels: The welding sequence of this operation is examined in terms of the weld metal, heat affected zone (HAZ), distortion effects and post weld heat treatment. Weld properties such as strength, ductility and hardness are discussed and the student is shown how to recognise weld imperfections, their causes and how to prevent them.
Complex issues presented in a simple manner
The systems use commentary, photographs, animations and video to explain complex issues in as simple a manner as possible.
Students work at their own pace
